The Keys to Building High Performance Teams Using Belbin
Here are some interesting facts regarding managerial effectiveness and team performance

    1. 35% to 50% of executive time is spent in meetings with various teams
    2. Team's performance is largely driven by the responsibility dialogue going on between members, not the task dialogue
    3. Lack of clarity about both purpose and role is a common complaint in teams
    4. How to manage diversity (and not intelligence) to generate team effectiveness.
    5. Teams with strong communications are up to 2 times more likely to outperform their peers financially.

This 1-day program combines the most up-to-date team leadership research with the Belbin Team Profiling system to provide a well-rounded view on how you can get the most results from you and your team. We offer a rare blend of Diagnostics, Development & Delivery to accelerate business and team performance

The Belbin Team Profiling system is “the” proven global team role system. Used by organisations worldwide for over 30 years it is built on the assumption that the “truth” about team style is most accurate when your view is combined with observer feedback. In depth reports provide practical understanding of how different “styles” can combine effectively to enable teams to function at their best.

Participants will be asked to go through the Belbin assessment, along with 4-6 observers to give a 360-feedback on one’s team roles, and how he/ she can get the most from the team members.
    Objective
After the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
    • Optimise team performance by leveraging on each others’ strengths
    • Find ways to work around the weaknesses of each team member, including yourself
    • Get optimal results by matching the right person for the right tasks and responsibilities
    Outline
    Opening Game 1

Participants will be split into 3 groups, and are numbered from 1 to 3. Each one has the following resources:
    • 1 broken colour pencil
    • 1 pencil sharpener
    • 11 pieces of paper

Their objective is to write their group number on as many pieces of paper as possible. Groups will have to negotiate with one another for their desired outcomes. f one or two groups try to squeeze out a third-party, the eventual result is everyone will lose. If they define “winning” as someone must lose, then everyone loses. All teams must build trust and agree to share the resources evenly, so that they optimize their individual results respectively. The challenge is that 11 pieces of paper cannot be divided equally by 3 teams, and hence it will need someone to step-up to coordinate with all 3 teams.

    Debriefing points:
    • How thinking win-win and implementing it can be very different and a lot more difficult
    • How to build trust and still protect your own interests
    • Taking the initiative to create synergies across different departments and entities.
